The Ruelas Family Foundation (RFF) is committed to serving the least among us, but what does that mean? The answer lies in the mission, vision, and values of the Ruelas family. Raul and Karen Ruelas came from very different backgrounds but were both raised in religious households and instilled with the spirit of charity and service to those in need.
A well-known verse from the Bible, Matthew 25:40, speaks of Jesus telling the people, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” The RFF aims to fulfill this duty through charitable, religious, and educational means. By assisting individuals and organizations who, in turn, assist the least among us, we will help meet the many challenges faced by marginalized communities.
The Ruelas Family Foundation Mission
The Ruelas Family Foundation has a primary mandate to aid the least among us in any manner possible. While that is a broad mission, we believe in helping as many individuals and communities as possible. We actively encourage those in need to complete a funding application, but we do have a particular focus on three areas of need:
- Families
- Individuals with mental health issues
- First-generation student scholarships
The RFF mission is informed by our faith but also by our experience in the behavioral health industry. Our personal backgrounds of service and hard work, faith in our religion, and love for all drive our mission to help the least among us however we can.
The Ruelas Family Foundation Vision
Quite simply, the RFF has a vision for positive change in the world. We aim to be that positive force of change and inspiration for those in need. Our vision is to create a better world where everyone, regardless of their background or circumstances, has access to the resources and support they need to thrive.
Through our philanthropic efforts and partnerships with other organizations, we envision a world where families are strengthened, individuals struggling with mental health are supported and understood, and first-generation students are given the opportunity to pursue higher education. We believe that every person has the potential to make a positive impact in their community and the world, and we strive to provide them with the tools and support they need to do so.
